Friend who is a nurse can’t work anymore cause of foot injury (indefinitely) and apparently will get paid 5k a month until he’s 65... is this possible? Seems too good to be true

Eh I'd rather have full use of my body and have to work than vice versa.

Her injury isn’t bad and she only worked for a year. Now she’s just traveling. sounds like a great deal

5k a mo? Pass

Depends where you live. If you’re signed off for life, I doubt you’d stay living in London or New York. You’d be missing a trick if you didn’t move somewhere cheap with a good quality of life

5k pretax? Pass

Yes. Disability insurance for loss of use. Usually payout is a % of income (60-65%)

Possible. I have income protection that pays 75% of my salary until I’m 65 if I can’t work for some reason

So closer to 3-3.5k a month post tax? Yea ain’t much

*its tax free

Damn in that case closer to 90k a year pre tax. Very legit outside the usual expensive cities

Curious for other 🐠 opinions. I have a friend looking to move firms and he is a Global Director overseeing international teams. But his company’s titles are more like banking, where the levels are: analyst<Manager<VP<SVP<Director<SD<MD<C-level. How would he convey that on his resume if he is looking at a role in a more traditional company? So if he was to move up for the next job it would a SVP.
