Accounting

Friendly Reminder: Never trick yourself into feeling indebted towards an employer. They will fire you in a heartbeat, and only want to profit off of your labor. Always prioritize yourself over a job.

Ok so what triggered this friendly reminder/boring post? Any back story that’s more interesting?

Nothing beyond just seeing co-workers stressing. Not all positive messaging is in response to negativity.

That’s like saying a restaurant wouldn’t serve you if you didn’t have money (or any other business). Sure that’s true but there are still certain businesses I am more loyal to because of my past with them.

Reminds me of a quote by APJ Kalam “Love your job and not your employer, you’ll never know when they’ll stop loving you” Agree seen many layoffs in the past 20 years. At the end of the day as it’s their business we should make it our business to be more valuable.

Of course they want to profit off your labor. They’re running a business. That being said, 100% agree. There is no loyalty on their part and you don’t need to be loyal either.

^^couldn’t have said it better myself. I’ve seen people prioritize work over the exam and after 2 years they let them go. Luckily he gave his soul to the employer. Not many enough people realize this early enough.

Feeling indebted to your employer used to get people through life. Now Americans feel indebted to politicians- just like third world countries. #Progress

It’s a two way street. Both parties benefit. Not sure why there’s any confusion here. It’s your own fault if you waste time and don’t develop/grow with this work experience. Don’t just get by and expect to just become more valuable by clocking in. You need to own your own development because only you can make yourself a priority.

Did the quote mention that you’re more likely to control your own destiny if you take charge of your career and development?
