From a career standpoint, which career path/choice you find more rewarding and with a brighter future - Support or Professional Services ? All of this in Salesforce.

I see you are a senior consultant, Do you see yourself building out tech more than fine tuning what is already at customer premises?

More rewarding - that’s a personal thing.

Brighter future - ProServ. Like it or not, clients see more value in delivering/building something new (or enhancing what’s already there) than in maintaining it once it’s built. That’s why you see the majority of support going offshore/lower paying resources.

like

Coming from the client side and I’ll tell you the reason why they are moving that way is because of how support is going offshore/lower paying resources. Whenever I run into an issue the absolute last thing I want to do is raise a case. I know I’ll end up just getting the run around for days until I get through enough escalations to talk to an engineer only to more than likely figure it out myself. Meanwhile the business would be breathing down my neck trying to solve their issues. Having a managed service contract you have someone else to blame and pressure to figure out.

The amount of froth in this bowl the last week is making me want to throw all my on-chain models out the window and sell my bags. People here posting about “gains are so easy” “I’m going to be rich” “should I sell my 401k to buy ethereum?” “Anyone long API3?” “I bought link at 30 and it dumped to 29, should I sell?”. Froth meter is at an 8/10, just like October 2017.

Hi MBB Software Engineer fishes,

I recently applied for a position in one of McKinsey’s recently acquired firm for Senior Software Engineer (Team Lead).

The interview process is so damn easy - A medium level Hackerrank test, interview with company CTO and then behavioural round with a McKinsey Director and offer extended.

Wondering if this is a red flag.
