Apologies for the dumb question but what exactly does partner mean in today’s world? In olden times it would have meant you were a partial owner right? Does it still? Or does it just mean extra highly paid employee with a lot of leadership responsibilities? We don’t use the term at Accenture of course since we’re public, but I’m curious what it really means at b4 or MBB, beyond just extra high paychecks? Are there actual partner benefits, like owning private shares of the company?
I really don’t understand why some employers are going to force employees back in the office after they’ve proven to work just fine fully remote for almost 2 years. Is this worth losing employees over?
I want to exit to MBB but if that’s not a possibility what are the next best consulting firms? Looking for at least midsize firms (non-boutiques).
Just curious, what percentage of your billable rate do you take home? Calculation would be ((Salary and Bonus/Yearly Billable Hours)/Billable Rate). For me it's about 18% as a Senior 1 in M&A Tax (note this doesn't include other benefits).
How many times do you 💦💦💦 during a work day? Wfh has enabled me solo and with my partner
I am new to RR this year. I am excited about this new journey and created this group to hear advice and tips for classroom setup, organization, and time management. Thanks to all who comment!
1 year and 3 month with two busy season experience, CPA licensed and CFE passed (don’t have two year experience yet), on a visa. What are the chances of me getting in forensic consulting? I’ve been cold calling people around but don’t seem like they are currently hiring.
What does an MBA start with in management consulting in Big 4 in the US? Say the person is hired as a Senior Associate.
Seeing some people just roll out the bed and show up on zoom meetings. I think this will come in handy to remind them to shower and change, ‘hopefully’? 🤦🏻♀️😂
If I tell Deloitte I'm leaving the firm while on the bench will they ask me to leave immediately?
Requesting help comparing three offers: 1. BizOps role at a big tech, nonMANGA: 200 base, TC 300 with RSUs. 2. F500 Corporate strategy director offer, TC is the same but slightly higher base. 3. Strategist role at a series D startup in cloud / data management, with latest funding pushing the valuation to ~$1.5b, comp still in discussion but base will be 175k or so
I know I should be grateful for my job but I am really sick of constantly feeling like shit and inadequate. What else can I do in the city to make about the same salary? (3rd yr associate in Jan)
Predictions in who wins Times Person of the year. I think will be a tie between DJT and healthcare heroes.
If you got fired, would you care?
