Turned in my resignation today and it felt great. To the fish out there that are still searching - lots of love and luck. And if you can, try to stick it out without getting fired for a job (cont'd)
Claim unemployment or try to find your hardest to find a job in the next month and omit the layoff? I want to rush but not settle. Definitely don't want to go back into consulting.
After getting laid off 2 weeks ago, I fired off about 20 resumes to different places. I have not received any feedback at all. Any ideas how to get past the computer and in front of someone?
Getting fired from a toxic work environment is it the best or worst thing that can happen?
First year here as a general staff accountant. Midsize. Been asking scheduling for work but only managed to get 10 hours of billable work last week doing a couple 1040s... I also ask around yet everyone says they’re fine. It’s still considered busy season here since I’m at midsize and it feels wrong not hitting atleast 40 billable hours. It would suck if I got laid off cause of it. 🥴
Laid off bc of lack of work, told I have a few weeks to find a new job BUT have been getting assigned new projects since then. Wtf do I do?
My firm sent an email yesterday saying their tracking billable hours DAILY. It’s either they don’t think we’re working from home or about to have some layoffs 🤷🏼♀️
Even if I am performer at clients I am having issues with job security! Good people around me are getting fired! Man! This is harsh!
Well fuck. I got laid off. Just when you think you’re in the clear, 2020 brings the pain. Guess it’s true that the big title comes with a big target.
Fired from big law and still unemployed 8 months out. I’m a mid level transactional associate. Is my legal career over?
Has anyone come back from being put on a PiP? My colleague just got one and is freaking out - her manager is overallocated like crazy, the other two media planners were laid off, and she’s the only one left standing. Her boss says she’s making too many mistakes - but they’re so short staffed. Any hope, or should she start looking now?
Finally got my YE! Was hoping to at least get a 3 after hearing about all the layoffs and the 4's going around. Got a 2 and I am EXTREMELY relieved! 🙌🏻🎉 Now I can really start my weekend! 😎🍾
It's kinda bullshit that a lot of us worked hard to get into consulting and now have to deal with layoffs. While others are enjoying safe decent paying jobs even though they slack off.
Former KPMG fish, when you got severance, was it lump sum or paid out like your normal paycheck?
What are the reasons partners get fired (besides sexual harassment and expense report fraud)? What keeps a partner from coasting and raking in the bucks?
What are partners hearing about the need to do furlough/layoffs? Heard of Deloitte and Accenture laid off/furloughs already within certain practice areas
Got laid off - need legal advice on release agreement / severance document. Do y’all have any free legal resources or an org / law firm that I can contact to seek advice? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
So now that Trump has been fired. Are we ready to talk about splitting the Union? Think about it. 70M americans want a fascist dictatorship, and think wanting to give people equal rights is socialism Lets go for an amicable divorce. Let them keep their Fascism and we will keep our "Socialism"
Hey folks, Help me choose Swiggy as Sr SDET or Amazon as QAE-1. Compensation is almost same, so do not want to consider that as decision factor. But based on other factors like position offered, wlb and learning opportunities It would help if you could support your answers with some points.
Counter offer in hand, need thoughts. After first "negotiation", they offered that they could at best match my base. Current situation: 195 base, no bonus Counteroffer: 170 base + 20k sign on + 20% performance bonus This feels like I'm getting the short end of the stick, right?
For a friend- anyone with experience getting h1b with law degree (passed texas bar) do companies sponsor in that field?
I received an offer from KPMG recently and filled out the office transfer form. Got a call with the news and a “congrats” email from the recruiter. I saw that my status for the original advisory position that wasn’t location based changed to “not under consideration,” however. What does this mean? I’m pretty confused lol
People who have made a job switch to another state in US (H1b transfer) in last 1+ years (since covid) with most companies being remote temporarily the Uscis rule that the employee should be in commutable distance from@office location within 30 days - how is this being taken care?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5055923/Arrested-Saudi-princes-photographed-five-star-prison.html Does this count towards lifetime nights at the Ritz?
Was laid off in April by midsize and have had few interviews in following months. Working with various recruiters yet still no traction. Didn’t go to top tier law school and graduated with 3.2 gpa yet have 3 years experience and being lawyer was 2nd career. Recently working with a boutique for per diem work who gave offer which is a lot lower than prior role (over $40k). Role would have no billables and practically 50% split—what are your thoughts?
Any remote opportunities for Internal & External Communications with 7+ years of experience? Kindly DM me.
For non-Big 4 people (RSM, GT, etc), did your pre-employment background check reveal any pending charges for gross misdemeanors?
No thanks I’ll stick to receiving points
Looking to transfer to the San Diego office next year after busy season. My initial search of industries says that its defense, tech and some smaller pharma companies. How's the office out there...
128k for a newly promoted manager in advisory risk cyber tier 1 city (masters with no MBA) and about 3 years relevant work experience in the US and 2 irrelevant work exp overseas, fair pay?
Is the AWS cloud practitioner cert meaningful to get or is it just another basic cert that’s useless?
Couple financial questions: 1) what do you do with your 401k when you quit? 2) if you go to grad school and come back above the income limit for Roth IRA, do you leave it where it is to grow?
So I’m planning to apply for MS fall 2023 intake and I found an educational consultant who gives free admission services and are doing so this year due to the pandemic. I had registered with them but they’re yet to start their services. I’m now thinking of hiring a bigger consultant for few of my target schools as I’m sceptical if this one is enough. Thoughts?
Hey Sales 🐠, kindly requesting your advice. I have 4 YOE in customer success and 2 YOE as a presales solutions consultant, all in the health tech space. I’d like to grow into a sales role (e.g. Account Executive), but am not sure what a good next step should be. I don’t have any full cycle sales experience or a history of a meeting quotas, but I am comfortable in C-suite interactions. Any suggestions on what type of sales roles to consider next? Thanks!
Mba consultant recommendations for essays? Mainly for sanity check on story and trimming fat since most of my rough drafts so far are over word limits Also any DIY tips on identifying/removing fluff?
Anyone have a micromanager boss? I’m at the point where mine texts me when I get up to go to the shitter to find out where I am. don’t work from home, don’t miss deadlines or meetings.. 🤷♀️
Was recently placed in a highly technical position. I’ve been trying to understand how parts are linked for past 5 weeks but I’m still struggling. I don’t want to quit cont....
