How would you know if your infant hates daycare?
Ok so for everyone who says they can work from home while watching their kids, they have built this for you. For $5500 it can be yours, compare that to the price of daycare! You’ll be saving money and the boss can’t see your kid on the webcam with this setup. https://www.demco.com/tmc-family-workstation

EY is 16 weeks paid. Technically 21 weeks since you can start leave 2 weeks before due date and then 3 weeks of vacation is automatically added at the end.
Got it, thanks!
Deloitte is 22-24 weeks fully paid depending on if you had vaginal or csection. You can add on paid or unpaid leave after but it needs to get additional approval. It doesn’t impact any PTO you acquired before, and you continue to acquire PTO while out on maternity leave so you come back with a ton accrued.

Good thing big D doesn’t have unlimited PTO
McKinsey is 16 weeks paid. You can also extend with PTO, then state leave (where applicable - I’m in CA, so it’s 8 weeks paid leave, specifically 60-70% of what you currently make, and is also capped).

Outside of consulting your experience is pretty common, unfortunately for moms in the US. I worked for several other employers before a consulting firm and my leave and PTO was similar to what you’re describing. Unfortunately teaches moms to have to make trade offs. Hang in there, maybe start looking for a job with better benefits and PTO.

In my world we have to use our sick leave and can add up to 12 weeks unpaid per Family Medical Leave Act.
Honestly mine was so confusing! ended up with a total of 22 weeks, a combination of NYFL, STD, company “bonding leave” and 2 weeks of PTO I was allowed to stack at the end. Only around 12 weeks was paid full time and the rest was around 60-70%. I’m back full time now though and am thankful for every second I took and felt like I could’ve used even more time! Thankfully the transition back with WFH has made things easier to adjust to.
On another note, I’m curious how all of this will work out with taxes next year.
Good luck!
ACN is 16 weeks, fully paid + whatever PTO you want to tack on. And industry job gave me 12 weeks fully paid and then I could only tack on an additional two weeks which was weird to me since it's my PTO and shouldn't be told how to take it.
