Working moms, would you choose a job that you really like or an easy job to spend more time with your child? It is so hard to make a choice…. I have two job opportunities- one for a MNC which has long work hours but great career outlook while the other company is much smaller but promises wlb. I have a toddler and hate to miss out her growth. But at the same time, I also want to think about my own interests without feeling guilty. Can you share your thoughts? Appreciate it!

Nanny or daycare? FTM here and overwhelmed with all the choices

Just found out I’m 5 weeks pregnant. Due to layoffs at my firm, should I tell HR really early to hopefully be somewhat more protected? Last pregnancy I waited until like 20 weeks to file paperwork.

Has anyone been a foster parent? How was the process? Does the state require foster parents to be a two person household? I’m 31 years old and single, and never wanted kids of my own. But I have worked in the social work system before, and do love kids. I’m at an age where I’m reflecting on what’s meaningful in life, & I want to be able to provide a child with a safe and loving home and be a positive impact on another life.

529 question: how much do you invest? I have a new born and expect at least one more kid. Living in IL (20k state tax exemption per year). Advice please! 2 kids - 2.5 and 6mo and last week was my first week back from mat leave. My toddler is throwing all sorts of tantrums now, which she never did before, demanding our attention. What are your bedtime routines for having two kids? We have a really good one for our toddler, but now need to put down our baby around the same time. Are you able to have a set routine for a baby and a toddler together or separate? Or is it more of a wishlist of tasks and order depending on how the evening goes and how the toddler behaves?

Anybody else ever get periodically intense anxiety over climate change and general sustainability trends? I'm there today. Usually it's just a motivating factor to drive less, consume less, make better choices for what I do consume...but then other times I get to this point where I start wondering if it's even ethically responsible to bring a child into this doomed world based on how everything seems to be going. Like efforts aren't even going to matter because the world keeps devouring itself.

My first impression of HBO Max: the classic movie catalog alone makes it worth the price. Casablanca, 8 1/2, Seven Samurai, 2001, Bringing up Baby, Ivan the Terrible, Freaks, North by Northwest, Gone with the Wind, Doctor Zhivago, Ben-Hur, An American in Paris, at least eight Godzilla movies, A Hard Days Night, Rock n Roll High School....and so on.... This doesn’t include the other content like Harry Potter and DC Comics.

Caught a candidate and offerree lying about his GPA. Resume had a 3.9 and background check returned a transcript with 3.7 (doesn’t look like he was ever close to 3.9). Seems like a bright kid though, mostly just unsettled by the need to lie. What would you do?
