To more senior litigators/trial attorneys, does litigation get easier?

I’m a third year, and am told I do a good job. Backing that up, I’ve gotten a lot of “good” opportunities early on to take/defend depositions, be the client contact, handle drafting dispositive motions + hearings (even hearings completely on my own for the motion/response I drafted).

People in my office will say these things are fun, that I must be enjoying it. But I don’t enjoy it and I want to puke most of the time.

Love it when the company lays off majority of all business ops and program / project management roles and then expects the few that are left to take on ALL of it 😣

The project does not align to the skills or experience I was hired for and has been extremely challenging due to the lack of project organization and proper staffing. Some of the most interesting/useful advice I received when I was at Accenture as an analyst was when I asked the SM responsible for the CDP program what meritocracy meant for Accenture. His response stay with me to date “Meritocracy isn’t about the number of projects or deals you work on, how efficient you are, how dedicated you are but it’s about how many MDs know and like you and who on performance calls like you”. He was promoted to MD this year. Lesson don’t be a grinder - play the game.
