Hi fishes, I recently cleared all rounds in Morgan Stanley YOE - 8 years Tech stack - Backend developer: Java Springboot SQL, etc Current CTC - 15 lpa fixed + 20% bonus Approx 17.8 lpa My HR round is still pending. How much can I ask for? In the manager round they said I will be offered the Senior Manager role. What is the salary range I should ask for. Please help.
Location is Bangalore.

Most companies are not going to give more than 5% for yearly raises. 2-5% is average.
If you want more, have a discussion about the value you bring and what you’ve done to deserve a higher raise or do a comparison to similar roles in your industry, location, and year of experience to show market data.
But chances are if you want significantly more, you’ll have to find a new job.
If you feel you’re underpaid, prepare a business case for more. Customer service excellence, new deals or deal expansion you’ve brought forward, unique or versatile development capability, etc. Be specific and have someone at a higher level look it over.
Note that you shouldn’t wait to develop new skills or take on additional responsibility until your next role. Earn it now so that when opportunities arise, you’re the person for the next level.
I typically look around every 3-4 years at a minimum. Worst case is you understand the market better and your options. You can always stay put.
