I have been working 20 years and with 2 kids now I am feeling completely burn out. Right now I m waiting for my company yo laid people off and sort of looking forward to a bit of career break. I feel too drained to interview now even through I hate my job.. nor do I have any interest with taking a job that require in office commuting 3 hrs a day. Old coworker is asking if I can do 8-10 hours a week for couple months to help his new company get off the ground w some products. How do you handle partners who are flat out rude to you? For example, one will routinely give me assignments and either give me no information about what she wants or give me the wrong information, then berate me when it’s not the way she wants it. I’m the most senior associate at the firm and bring in a lot of money as well as my own clients and don’t feel like it’s acceptable to treat me (or anyone) this way, but particularly given my status as close to partner.
