Funny advice or words of wisdom going into 2020

I moved to Baltimore during the pandemic and am WFH but I want to get out and meet more people. Thinking about joining Volo (IM league) for softball or something but I don’t want to be that awkward person that signs up as an individual and is assigned a team that’s already a group of friends 🥲 I don’t have enough confidence to do things on my own (restaurant, movies, etc) because I think I’m so self conscious even though I don’t usually show it 😔 I’m almost 27 and should be able to do that 🤦🏻‍♀️

Shell of a man lately and just have zero motivation to work lately. In the span of 3 months my dad has had a triple bypass heart surgery, my mom told me she’s on a lung transplant list while doctors try to figure out what’s wrong with her, my aunt just passed unexpectedly and that crushed my parents, my brother is getting a divorce.. all while I support my fiancé through a PA program taking on all bills. Feel like my job is to support so many others and can never focus on myself. Exhausted

Looking for advice on exit opportunity - Master in Statistics, 2 YOE as Investment Analyst in Wealth Management. None of my friends/family is in finance, and I’m the first non-finance major being hired in the team. I like programming in R but it’s not doable in my current job, do 90% of work in Excel. I’m thinking more towards risk management / more quantitative roles. Thanks.
