What % of a raise can I expect with a 2 rating going from C to SC? Technology consultant
More and more colleagues are claiming that bringing a job offer from the competition is the fastest way to get a promotion from mgr to sr mgr and/to MD, do you agree?
I am from public acctg and a Senior for 5 years. I’ve had this conversation on my promotion to Manager and was told I need another year. I feel demotivated and getting frustrated that they do not see me as someone who can be a Manager.
Bear markets are necessary in crypto space so scam projects and pump and dumps can go defunct and legit coins can raise back.
What has been a typical annual raise pre-pandemic for tech consulting seniors at EY? 10-12%?
Does BCG platinion offer raise to base salary every year? I know about bonus, not sure about raise.
is 6 months too early to ask for a raise?
Any agencies giving raises right now? We keep hearing the same pandemic-related excuse every week for the raise freeze. I was due for a raise when everything shut down last year, took a pay cut for half the year, and don’t know how much longer I can hold out.
Does BNP APAC does background verification before sending offer letter or after sending the offer letter? I have not been asked about the educational certificates yet. They have only asked the PAN, PASSPORT and Current employer salalry slips and promotion letter. P.s - I have recieved the offer letter now. Will they be still doing any background verification or this is done ?
Hi fishes I'm being constantly denied opportunities to grow and being targeted by a female manager for a rating discussion which happened a year ago . She is literally dropping allegations over me in managers meets which are false and some how my coach is also with her. My current year performance is well, with highest quality yet I'm not being considered for promotion.I'm seriously trying to look out but not getting any calls, what options do I have, can I raise this to intigrity helpline ??
Hoping to get some input on exit paths from tax. I’ve been at a small local firm for 2.5 years, got my CPA license this year, expecting promotion to senior after evaluations in December. Overall I’m pretty happy where I’m at now, the company has a good culture and no one works crazy hours. But I don’t plan to stay in public accounting for my entire career and have heard that the year after senior promotion is a good time to make a change. I’m concerned that
How do you ask for a raise when you know your CCO is going to start by saying he went above and beyond for you and really did his best. But you know you are underpaid.
Whomstever among you was responsible for putting Nick Offerman in a campaign for JB Weld... you deserve a raise
I want to tell my supervisor that I'm not happy with my responsibilities anymore. I feel like I am not trending upward in growth and it seems like my duties have remained the same after years with the company. I rarely have support underneath me, so I pretty much have just taken on a few new tasks with each "promotion." Any advice on how to have this discussion? I'm not confident having these discussions either, so advice for being confident is helpful, too!
To all consultants out there: I am rather introvert and quite confcall - how did you learn to boost your confidence? Culturally I come from a region where self promotion is seen negatively. You always down-play.
At Cisco and haven't gotten a raise since I've been here in almost 3y. I didn't pursue it the first 2y because I had close family deaths and poor performance. Now I'm outperforming my peers and ready to look elsewhere. Word on the street is that my org is getting stiffed pretty hard during focals. Any chance of bringing an outside offer to the table and getting a raise? Promotion? Just curious what your experiences are like. Managers, tech leads, whatever..
Deloitters - if I buy 2 fitbits at the same time under the wellness subsidy (one for myself and one for my wife) will that raise any red flags when I go to do the expense report?
Advice wanted: My firm lied about our raises this year. They said we’d match the other top 10 firms, and that was absolute BS. I’m having a hard time staying motivated. I’m doing senior level work without the title or pay. Fresh college grads are getting paid more than me. I’m already job searching, but I feel bad that I don’t have the same drive as I did before when I thought I would be receiving a proper raise. I learned my lesson. Any advice for a young professional?
To the person who just posted on groupme with well wishes about promotion notifications, we know you're humblebragging. I'm sure those who weren't appreciate the salt in their wounds right now.
Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.

Prepping for a McKinsey final round with case. It’s for a Specialist role within Digital and I’ve been told to prepare for a “tech oriented” case… any tips on this specific type of case, or resources for prep? Thanks!
Need advice on whether or not to use an MBA consultant. Any opinions / thoughts appreciated! Situation: just turned down a promotion and quit my job because it doesn’t align with my career goals and was becoming a waste of time. Planning on spending the next 10 weeks studying for GMAT and applying for new jobs/volunteering, then applying R2 for 2021. I have a 3.9 GPA in a non-traditional major (French lit) from a “fake Ivy.” Only M7s I’m interested in are Kellogg and Sloan. (Cont.)
Why do people talk on obnoxious calls in the middle of the team room? Self awareness, please. How is this not a lesson you learned, I don't know, by existing more than a day on the planet?
Looking at Technology Consultant positions for Seattle. In third round interviews. What salary range should I expect for Senior Tech Consultant or non-senior? These software companies (not Microsoft)
EY vs Deloitte for cyber risk consulting? Asking for a student about to graduate from my alma mater who is choosing between the two. Any difference in the culture, work-life balance, opportunities?
Any associate at Citi LDN ECM that would kindly share any insight into culture, work/life and dynamics of the team? Hugely appreciated!
RC or MC? I‘m a new hire as a risk consultant (associate) and I originally applied for management consulting, but in the middle of the int process (2nd interview) they asked me if I would mind /cont.
Assuming you are smart enough to do both (I know big assumption), are you better off being a SWE/data scientist at FAANG or equivalent level at MBB (based on YOE) from a compensation:WLB ratio?
Random question: has anyone here written a non-fiction book? If so how did you start ? I want to write one on value creation in real estate but I don't know where to begin apart from the contents page.
Thinking about moving to a big city with the following preferences. I am thinking about Dallas, philly, or Chicago. What’s your experience living in those cities? Is there any other city I am missing? 1. Growing economy and population 2. Great food scene and things to do as a young professional 3. Relative LCOL can’t afford housing in NY, SoCal, etc. 4. Diversity of culture especially a bigger Chinese presence
Can anyone provide insight to working at Holland and Hart? Also, when do parental leave benefits kick in? Is there a waiting period? Do they negotiate lateral bonuses for losing out on present firm end of year bonus? TIA.
Posted this yesterday in the general bowl, might be more relevant here. Have offers from D F&EP and Accenture Strat CFO&EV. Comp is about the same. Interested in who has better Op model strategy work
My so is the only kid and he was sure about receiving a decent inheritance from parents as well as aunt+uncle. The thing is he always told me explicitly his priority is to take care of his parents, then aunt+uncle, then the daughter of this aunt+uncle with his wealth and future inheritance (becomes the family money manager). In a way that it makes me feel very low in his priority esp that we’ve started talking about a future together. How would this affect your future financial planning? 💡
