I’d do 6 month. 5 lb/month is reasonable and should likely give you time to hit your goal weight and figure out your rhythm to maintain. For me, losing is easy. Maintaining is hard. I’m good at being super disciplined and motivated to lose, but the balance of just maintaining is hard.
Thank you, PWC1!! I followed your recommendation and got the 6-months plan! It’s weird though that fruits, veggies and lean meat count for 0 points on WW while the calories are not negligible (especially for fruits). How do you ensure you’re not gonna gain weight while tracking 0 points for this food? Thank you :)
I did ww back in the early 2000. It was ok. Honestly I find most of these programs over complicate what should be a simple truth: eat whole foods, mostly plants, move every day and sleep enough. Doing this alone worked more wonders for me than counting any points ever did. If you need the external motivation, I get it. It’s worth a shot! It worked well when I followed it.

Try it for one month, see if it works for you. WW was great for my mom, and of course lots of other women too.
For me, the most important thing was learning how many calories I was actually consuming in each serving. I would make a sandwich with mayo, thinking, “probably 20 calories for that little bit of mayo,” then I weighed it and realized that was 100 calories of mayo! Just tracking my calories and realizing what I though was “little” really wasn’t, and that I was drinking a lot more wine than I thought. Learning those really helped, and I just used the Lose It! App for free.
