I’m into sneakers as well so I’ve gotten to see how crazy things have gotten in the past few years. Granted it’s still hard to get sneakers and some stores are just as bad as ads but I think the more frustrating thing with watches is that they’re a continuous production item and Rolex produces a million watches. Plus it’s kind of silly to me how you have be deemed worthy to buy certain brands

Interesting article. I think I’d be pushed further away from collecting if there are just more and more ‘limited collabs’. I managed to buy a Bamford x GShock online, fighting through a constantly crashing Casio website. I’ve come close to a MoonSwatch, they sold out about an hour before I got there having sold all morning at a steady rate without huge queues. But the satisfaction of the Bamford isn’t huge, it’s just a gshock with a different colourway, as is the case with most of these collabs.

If it goes the way of the sneaker world, constant limited releases being gobbled up by expensive bots owned by resellers, I just won’t bother. As much as there is some joy in hunting down rare and exclusive pieces, I think for a lot of these the only attraction is that they are ‘limited’ or ‘rare’ and I wouldn’t pay anything over retail, and in some cases even retail.

I thought to myself yesterday what I’d do if I saw the moonswatch while on holiday, stacked with a bunch of fake Rolex. If the release had never happened, I wouldn’t even give it a second glance. Yet I’ve been to the store 5+ times to try and get one :)

Looking for advice/collaboration! I've been in the Talent Acquisition space for 8 years now, however, I am new to tech hiring. I am in the process of building out a Talent Acquisition team for engineering/apps/infrastructure and would love to benchmark what others have found to be successful in this space!

How many reqs do your tech recruiters carry?

Are they supported by a team of sourcers?

How large are each of those teams compared to your volume of hiring? What metrics do you use?
