Generally speaking, what should an associate do when s/he can’t establish a line of communication with the partner/sr. assoc. for reasons undisclosed/unknown and the client is demanding immediate turnaround on a doc for OC that said partner agreed to provide for review in writing the day before? Should I continually harass the junior partner to approve said jr ‘s draft w/ jr. updates? Try to handle on own amidst client status requests? Ask another junior and/or senior partner how to handle?

Hi all. I started a new role with a company I’ve been with for 2 years. The role is very much an SME role and can be quite boring sometimes. When hired I was told that this role would do a lot of different projects and skys the limit but after 7 months, I’ve been doing 1 project and when asking about role expansion essentially told to stay in my lane. My first thought was performance issues but manager confirmed not that. It’s getting really boring and need more engagement. What should I do?

There is a good case for higher year end bonuses this year. All in comp is down in 2022 taking into account special bonuses last year. So unless PPP takes a real hit, I’d like to see a modest bonus increase. Doubt PPP is going to be down by that much (in many cases not at all) for the top 30 firms. And with firms trimming fat, that should mean higher bonuses for those that are left. Idk about the rest of you, but my firm feels as busy as ever (M&A).
