Generally, will you get a better mortgage rate through a direct lender (bank) than through a mortgage broker?

If you do you have a really bad broker :). If anything the broker will charge a fee for finding that best rate for you.

I have seen better rates usually through brokers. My local credit union was able to beat it one time though. Get the rate from a good broker and see if others can beat it.

Brokers for sure. Over 20k brokers through United Wholesale Mortgage. But, still shop brokers. Avoid BankRate, LendingTree and Informa powered ads for sure. If you are a veteran, Veterans United Home Loans has incredible reputation for excellent service.

If associates at my firm are 150-200k range and junior partners at my firm are in the 250k range (mid law, less hours 1800, lower rates 250-650), how much do you think the 45 or so equity partners make a year? We have about 150 lawyers 80 ish million top line in revenue in 2021. I just want to know what the prize for sticking around here a decade to make equity would be. I am afraid to ask but I think I heard someone say 300k-1m dollars once a couple years ago. Thanks all!

I’m 6 month pregnant with a good amount of lower back pain that gets worse with standing and walking. Insanely, I’d like to take my 2 older kids to Disney before the new baby arrives. Has anyone been to Disney Land (CA) and Disney World (FL)? I’m curious if Disney Land being smaller would be less walking and possibly a better option.

Novice investor here so just wondering, looking at multi-families around me and see plenty where the cash flow makes sense. A lot of properties also have tenants in place where rent adds up to 1.5k but the mortgage would only be 600-700. This sounds too good to be true why would anyone be selling? What sort of due diligence should I be doing here? TIA

So, a loan for one of our apartment complexes in the Chicago area matured. It is a straight up commercial loan—85 units. The lender kept the same 4.20% rate. I’ve already signed the docs, so nothing I can do now. But we’ve got another complex where the loan is maturing next year. I talked to a few people and they said 4.20 % isn’t bad for commercial multifamily, but wanted to know if anyone here had thoughts on this.

After being mugged and having my things (including my keys) stolen, I was locked out of my townhome after business hours on a weekend. I was told on the phone when dialing my complex’s after hours number (which is managed by a 3rd party company) that my complex’s policy would let me in for a cost of $100 (as it was after hours). After I was let in, property manager informed me the charge was $200. Is there anything I can do here? This is in Minnesota. Help appreciated!!
