All things points

Genuine question here. Have been 1K on United for the last few years. Currently at platinum and want to make 1K but no more work travel this year. I’ve met PQD requirements, but not PQM contd

$8000 for 1k status? hell no. is 1k really worth $8k more than platinum? you can buy a rolex for that. or a lot of other things. you might be able to justify it on a dollar value basis with the GPUs, but that is still $8k you probably won’t otherwise spend on an airline.

I need ~20k PQMs. I have 2 personal trips that I would normally book with miles, but wondering if it’s worth it to spend the $ instead to make 1K - ~$7,500 for one way international business class trip (will get ~16k points), the rest from a bi-coastal trip ~$600. Is it worth it?

I don’t know what to go into. I’m a May 2019 graduate and I work as a bookkeeper and payroll manager for 2+ years. I want to go into big 4 or maybe rsm/gt. But don’t know what field. Tax isn’t my favorite and I don’t want to travel for audit. Any input on what I should do? And should i apply as an intern?

Need advice: I recently graduated from an MBA program and will start with EY Parthenon soon. I have 42 months left on my H1B and I’m nervous about EY starting my GC process since they have paused PERM (they said they will start GC after a year but if they miss this window, I’ll be screwed). Should I be looking to change jobs soon (within the next six months) or stick it out with EY? TIA!
