Genuine question so please help me understand. Today I saw a email signature with a her/them and was confused by it. I thought it was he/his, she/her and they/them and wasn’t sure what the combination I mentioned meant. Can someone please explain and please request helpful answers only.

It's all personal preference. "Them" is a non-gender pronoun so anybody could use it. Welcome to 2021 lol

EY 1 it was clear the question was about the combination of non- gender with gender pronoun. Welcome to reading comprehension!

I'm pretty sure it means this person uses both she/her and they/them pronouns

like

from my understanding (as a cis female) gender identification is on a spectrum. her/them pronouns could arise from them identifying as non-binary but connecting with some aspects of femininity. i have a friend that went from she/her -> her/them -> they/them, it changed as they learned more about themselves

I can’t speak for that individual, but I have a few acquaintances that will accept multiple pronouns. It might mean you have the option to use either depending on what you are comfortable with.

like

GT1 is right! they likely use both she/her and they/them pronouns. from what i understand, she’d probably love if you use them both interchangeably but either is fine

like

Just use their name if youre not sure how to address them

Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.

I have a senior director who needs a PIP. Plan was to meet w him today to start phase I (formal Learning Plan). Got a Teams msg middle of the night that he's in ER w gma. Ordinarily, I'd wait a few days at least, but the performance issues are real, have been going on (despite feedback and support) for months, and impact rest of team. He has issues w health, family, etc. at least monthly. I've worked hard to build a warm, supportive team and struggling now. Would appreciate ideas!

Do you feel like your sales/marketing team are on your side?
I don't know if it's my company or what but often times it feels like they're just selling to sell w/o consulting with video & what's feasible. Often times I find AMs copying & pasting word for word correspondence between video & client w/zero input or expertise. They rarely push back on client or manage them properly. I'm starting to get burnt out (I'm a FT producer/director)
