R/GA has quietly shifted their business model to start making a good chunk of their $$$ from digital production. They’re doing more site design, UX/UI and social than they ever have.
They’re not a brand building place, not that that was ever their specialty back in the day anyway.
We have a studio that helps us make things. But we're not "primarily digital production." Most of our work is creating, designing, advising.
We've always been hard to pin down because we don't come from a conventional digital or ad agency background. We do communication, customer experience, customer relationships, and brand design and consulting. We also have a ventures studio that invests and supports early stage tech companies. Communications work tends to be full service creative and media planing, digital and social work, and an emphasis on tech and new economy clients. Our biggest clients are Google, Nike, Samsung and Verizon.
Samsung will always be a grind but the accounts leadership is fully focused on weeding out toxicity and building a team of genuinely smart, nice humans.
I work here and don’t even know
They run a moderately funny Twitter account
I’d say it’s an extremely funny Twitter account. I love it. And the dude who runs it is also hilarious.
They do literally what you just said: they make slick websites with confusing IxA and kind of do a little bit of everything else as an add-on ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Why do I not know the answer to this question but still want to work there.
Idk the answer and I do work there. 🤭
I’ve been here a few months now and from my perspective we do a little bit of everything. All the projects I’ve been on thus far have been big, integrated campaigns and content production. We have a whole group in the NY office dedicated to that kind of work. That’s exactly the kind of work I wanted to do so it’s been working out nicely for me. I have no idea what percentage of our work is integrated campaigns though.
We have an entire brand team that works specifically on brand creation and redesign.
We have the Ventures studio that I still can’t really explain lol.
There are groups that focus on more of the “systems” work like website and product design but I haven’t really touched any of that.
TLDR: We do everything other ad agencies do, plus some extra stuff.
Bring back Taras Wayner. They desperately need some of his magic.

I’m more curious what happened to that beautiful office they had built a few years ago that was featured in the Workplace documentary.
The office is still there, as is the outsider art. Turning some of the desk areas into meeting spaces and a bigger studio now we can work from anywhere.
Listens to Sean Lyons read from a script while he lays off more people and keeps his job.
What’s IxA?
Sorry for being silly I guess. Yes they’re one of the most successful agencies but they also do a lot more than campaign work now. And I’m trying to better grasp that? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ silly me
They send their global CCO to every award show and conference they can. Can’t be that busy!
How’s the Samsung business account?
