I order take-out a ton because I have major depressive disorder and if I don't order out I simply won't eat. I think that things like meal kits can be fun but they're often just as expensive as ordering take-out. But yeah the more and more accessible take-out/delivery has become, the less healthy many of us (myself included) have become. Also certainly not great for anyone's budget.
Busy projects - ordering all weekdays, try to cook 1-2 meals on weekends
It sucks. But I’d rather watch TV / sleep than cook in busy weeks.
I cook all meals Sunday-Thursday. Usually eat out at least twice between Friday and Saturday

Data suggests the opposite actually, cooking at home has become much more popular since the pandemic.

I eat like a king
It’s cheaper to eat out if you make more money with the time you spend cooking.

It was therapeutic for me before I had kids. Love my kids more than I can express. Nothing like complaints (spoken or unspoken) to suck every bit of joy out of cooking, though.
I don’t eat breakfast. Usually get sweetgreen for lunch and cook dinner M-Th, only eating out on weekends. I often end up getting dinner out 3-4 times a week though depending on social commitments and dates
Sometimes I’ll make my fridge look like a Pinterest fridge. I cook and eat healthy and clean. The next week I’ll order food every day. #noconsistency
I throw some fresh veggies and protein on a small gas grill every night after returning from the gym after work. Two servings of proteins and extra large servings of a bunch of greens and I've got dinner plus next day's lunch in a few minutes. Quick and easy, minimal cleanup, and cheaper than other options. Throw in nuts/yogurt/fruit/salads/etc as snacks when needed, hard-boiled eggs in the mornings with fruit, lots of various liquids all the time (tea, coffee, water, protein shakes, etc). I like consistency and routines, so I eat the same thing every day at the same time, remove any decision making from the process, and the grocery bill is very small.

I used to cook all week and spend money on restaurants I really like. Did takeout to support during lockdown, but seeing the bill and not getting the dine in experience still feels bleh.
I never order with delivery apps - finding out about the ~30% of the order going to the app put me off right away.

I didn’t grow up eating out. It was rare and a true treat. When I got married, we maybe ate out once a week. When the pandemic hit, we started ordering a lot of carry out and delivery to support local restaurants we didn’t want to go out of business. And now I’m hooked.
We eat out once/week. But most of our home cooked meals and not exactly home cooked. We do a lot of Costco preprepared meals that aren’t frozen but are ready to bake/cook. I also eat mostly salads mixes for lunch and reheat chicken to mix in. Breakfast does tend to be homemade (eggs and toast mostly). We eat a lot of fresh fruits, veggies, and cheeses because it’s such an easy and healthy snack.
We’ve been loving the stuffed bell peppers. We wrap them in foil and grill them. Easy and doesn’t make a mess.
Also, the cilantro lime shrimp goes so well with the kale salad for easy lunches and lighter dinners.
Our previous fav that we’ve simply overused at this point is the chicken stir fry. We just throw it all in one pan it’s done much quicker than Chinese delivery!
I cook almost every night I’m not traveling. We go out or get takeout once or twice a month.
Cook from Sunday to Thursday. Eat out Friday and Saturday for dinner
Too busy to cook as much as I would like to

I order/pickup lunch once or twice a week because I get tired of my own cooking. I went the first two years of pandemic making basically every meal for my family with no outside food.
I cook dinner most nights to be more healthy; may get delivery once every 2 weeks. We don’t go out to restaurants.
I have multiple accounts on multiple delivery apps so I order delivery whenever there’s a promotion in any of the account/app

I didn’t buy bread in 2+ years since we got a high end automated breadmaker (Zojirushi)

I have so few hours of free time and most dinners can be expensed, the very last thing on my mind is buying groceries, prepping meals and cleaning dishes. So yea I order take out twice a day every day
That's the benefit of consulting and select tech jobs. Employee covered meals makes life so much easier (especially if you can maintain nutritious choices)
I’m big on weightlifting and counting macros so I cook every meal besides one or maybe two cheat meals a week.
If traveling, Chipotle is your go-to. Eating out is grilled chicken and veggies, steamed rice no butter. When I’m at home, I rotate chicken (crock pot), lean turkey (99/1) and lean beef (93/7 min). Low carb tortillas for fiber and gold potatoes/veggie pasta/jasmine rice for carbs. Add in low fat cheese and low fat Greek yogurt for a sour cream substitute. Kodiak waffles and peanut butter for snacks. Sometimes I do avocado and egg bagels for breakfast. Hot sauce, mustard and sriracha for sauce (I’m not a fan of zero sugar bbq—check out Melinda’s sauces if you have them locally). I’m 5’10” and cutting—currently 192 (215p 60f 185c). I’ll up the fat by 10 and fill the rest with carbs for maintenance or bulk depending on tdee
