It's extremely hard to sell unless your a white male
All the partners in my practice except two guys are obese white male :/. But they're nice.
Indian I don't think so but it may depends on the firm
Yes mostly white / Indian in my office
Didn't you/someone already post this question in last couple days? No update.
Even more interesting: any black partners ?
None in my practice. In fact I'm like ⅓ east asians in the north east
There was a good article written a few years ago about why so many East Asian attorneys never make partner, written by an Asian woman, good read.
Well the main partner at Deloitte, the CEO is Indian.
Hmm but I saw the same issue in law firms, and being a lawyer is considered prestigious in East Asian families. I think East Asians may lack (or don't work on enough) the soft skills to become socially popular or navigating politics. A lot of East Asians I know are good at getting their work done, but you can't rely completely on meritocracy to make partner (true both in consulting and law). They often lack a powerful mentor to advocate for them at the top.
You're
I feel like we've got quite a few in my office.
We have one black partner in my office
Bcg 2 are you from Dallas ?
Very very few. Not sure why. Actually I do know. It's too do with confidence and also probably the fact that we know we can make more money doing other things!!!
Not many, even though we have tons of East Asian consultants. It's a shame really.
I've observed the same
@SC1 yeah but the question is asking about East Asians (who are "decently" represented at junior levels but taper off at senior management levels), not Indians (who are well-represented throughout the hierarchy).
East Asian, not south
D2, we have several black partners at EY. Mostly SE.
