People just want to talk for the sake of talking in meetings? Or their own, weird way of acknowledgement?
I know I speak up a lot in meetings because it’s the only place I have to prove that I know what’s going on.
In my experience, men often times simply don’t listen to women.
Another part of this is that people "mansplain"when the other person already knows about the topic. If you genuinely asked for additional context its not mansplaining. Often people don't listen, but its explaining when someone else didn't ask for clarification and assumes the other person (often a woman) isn't the more knowledgable person on a given topic.
I find it’s down to individual character. Some don’t listen, some don’t wanna look vulnerable, some mean the same as you but just describe it differently (non native speaker here, happens all the time). What it boils down to though is the louder you bark and the more you talk the more you must be ‚right‘. That’s the fucking non sense I see in our industry too often.
