Quick question - can you travel with an Allen key in your carry on (for adjusting spin shoes in the road). It’s not sharp at all. Seems less dangerous than a pen.
Thoughts on this?
Is it more impressive to make manager in 2.5 years at the same firm or move to a different big 4. Im S1, got an offer from another big 4 to be a manager but my firm (also a big 4) wants to make me a manager and match the salary immediately. Assuming the work would be similar, what would look better on my resume? Goal is to make director as quickly as possible and go in-house.
Having the last week off has really shown me the toll this client has taken on my life in 3 months. My last client, I would have been bummed to take a week off, this one... Dreading going back on Tues
WFH be like...
How do you all focus while interviewing, especially when you’re coming up to a final round interview (it’s today). I have not been able to complete anything today.
“Why are you so cranky right now? Cheer up, the sun is out today!” -PM to Creative Director 10 mins after telling him the client killed a project he spent 3 months working on due to budget cuts
An opportunity sort of fell into my lap and wanted to get other thoughts. Internal audit manager role, 100% remote, 20% base increase plus better benefits. I work on a lot of audits on the tax side so am familiar with audit. M4 in big 4, not sold on staying in tax. Would I be qualified and is this a terrible idea?
How are you going to celebrate Mother’s Day
Has your company asked you to come back to work in the office or are you still fully remote? If you have gone back to working in the office, what makes the experience enjoyable for you?
Anyone work at Slalom Consulting? Curious about others who've gone through interview process. Passed the first round interview and waiting for the next round to be scheduled this week. How many rounds did you go through? Did you have a case interview? Was the offer above/below expectations? Thanks
Hey all - I am at a regional firm in the northeast (300 employees) that recently started a search to include permanent remote, full time or part time roles in every facet of our tax group. We honestly are growing quickly (below average turnover) and just need more good people as our client base grows. Good management, very fair compensation, and an actually flexible work environment (we have quite a few part time / reduced hours) and advancement opportunities... Give me a shout!
How many of you who moved here for masters or on H1B are now millionaires? How long did it take for you to get here and what was your starting & current salary? I moved here 3 years ago but a $1M net worth seems nearly impossible. Did you also regularly send money to parents in your home country? Looking for inspiration and advice.
Is it safe to travel outside of USA when your H1B is going to expire in 8 months? (Extension will be filed at the 6 month horizon.)
