Anyone here familiar with transitioning from biglaw to IB? Saw an IB associate position advertised that was open to corporate/finance lawyers of my experience level and industry focus. Just wondering how one would quickly pick up the requisite quantitative skills and what life was like after switching (ie, steep learning curve, better/worse lifestyle, future career prospects, etc.).

I’m a first time home buyer in the process of making an offer on a condo in the DC area. My realtor is stating that earnest money is a requirement to submit the offer. Is that true? The condos been on the market for almost 3 months and no indication of any other offers being submitted recently. I’m not seeing the value in putting that money in escrow upfront if there’s no additional offers on the table.

I left biglaw after 2 years, stayed home with my kids for 8, and then became a recruiter. My husband left biglaw after 1 year, started his own firm, grew it and practiced for 20+ years, and then became a judge. We’ve both been very happy with our choices!

Does anyone know of any companies that offer senior travel/medical insurance (81+) or have any other recommendations? Or does she just come without travel insurance?
