This might not be a battle worth fighting, but if you disclosed a medical condition to them and they’re basically retaliating against you for it instead of trying to “reasonably accommodate” it, you might have an ADA claim against them. If you were to make noises about that, it might buy you some time, although it’s not going to overcome a broken culture.
Which firm? Happy to refer you. A PIP can be hard to overcome
Ah, that's rough. Sorry to hear that. I'm sure others would be happy to refer toy
I’m so completely upset that instead of being understanding and supportive that I was being open and taking corrective steps, I’m being formally called out and documented about my performance.
Any tips to prevent me from spiraling? I’m not even in the mood for tips to improve the work situation because I think it’s pretty clear they don’t care about well-being...
Thanks SLC1- I had actually had to go through this with a previous employer. Formal EEOC complaint, lawyer, whole ball game and settled out of court. (Was NOT mental health related, for a physical condition and they were super obvious with their retaliation, so cake-walk case for my lawyer). That whole process is so taxing mentally. It’s 100% why so many people just give up and employers can still do shady stuff. Not sure I have it in me to even start throwing around those words. I’m hoping to just get it all the over with as quickly as I can.
