Yes, my sister got it 4yrs ago and they told her that she doesn't need days off! Wrong! You don't want to look at compute screen right after your surgery! Take couple of days off
Yes, you'll most likely sleep the entire second day as well. Take the time to relax and let your eyes heal.
You can take a medical leave day, if that's what you're asking. The office where you get it done will definitely write you out. I had it done 4 years go, amazing! Good luck.
I paid 3300k in DC area, my doc was awesome because she let me pay for part in one calendar year to use up my FSA and the remainder the following Jan when my new FSA replenished. Totally take a day or two, you physically won't feel like you need it but it will be helpful and you should rest your eyes and keep them moist as much as possible so why bother having to worry about looking at your laptop screen or focusing on work stuff.
I would just in case
Yes. Definitely. You will certainly not be able to work. And I think they even say not to look at screens for a couple of days.
Medical/ sick day, OP. You are having a medical procedure done. Even though it is elective, it's still medical.
The recovery period is 2 weeks?
I got it in Friday and was ready to work on Monday. Glad I had the weekend off though
Def take a day off
Questions for you guys, did you pay out of pocket or insurance covered it? If out of pocket, do you mind sharing how much? My sister got her done so long ago it's no longer relevent
I paid $3,500 for PRK at Eye Doctors of Washington (one of the best in the DC area). They normally charge $5k. Highly recommend them. They charge the same amount for Lasik and PRK. I paid out of pocket
^ out of pocket, and it was $4,000. I had it done four years ago, so may be different now too. I had the advanced kind done, due to severe astigmatism.
Yeah, try to get it on a Thurs. or Fri. And have a few days to recover. Take the medical days as opposed to personal. Stock up on your eye drops and be diligent with them! Good luck!
Mine was 4k
Only needed 1 day of recovery (day of surgery). Mine was around 3.5K for both eyes. I don't think any insurance policy covers it. But I would max out HSA or FSA to help with the cost.
Some vision insurance companies will give you a 10% or so discount if you use an in-network provider, but I'm not sure that any of the in-network ones would be my too choice of eye surgeon
