Relative scale is a good point from Bain, and keep in mind that companies are frantic to retain people right now. There are enormous pros to staying somewhere that you have a great team. Consider scheduling some time for a serious chat with your manager. Let them know you've been approached and you're considering it because the offer has made you feel undervalued at your current salary, but you enjoy your team, etc. If they're smart they'll bump you up, and if you don't then you know where you stand with them...
Try to negotiate internally if you like team and work.
All depends on the relative scale here
Who wants more money? Hanging out with team members is what essential.
Not saying don’t take the money, just saying to advocate for yourself where you are first (if you’re happy there) and see if they’ll match/beat the offer. And of course consider the percentages. Moving from $250k where you’re happy to $285k where you may be unhappy isn’t necessarily worth it the way it could be if you’re at $50k and moving to $85k.
Thanks TBG1 will take this advice!
Go. Otherwise it could take you 3+ years to get there on regular salary adjustment cycle. TVM
