Is there a way to access 401k funds in early retirement without a penalty? Been contemplating getting out of this rat race.
Why is being a mom and working in healthcare so difficult? I always feel like I am failing.
Realized I’ve been contributing all post tax dollars to my 401k for the past 1.5 years. Am I able to convert this to a roth somehow? What kind of tax liability might I have? Should I switch to pre tax contributions?
Ex-MBBer looking for consultants who have gone independent and looking for a cool gig with expertise in Healthcare strategy, with sub-topic expertise with payors, providers, healthcare finance, digital health. Know anyone?
1st yr, been putting away 18% of pre-tax income to 401K (-27% return). Have $3k to invest, what would you recommend? pay towards $4k loan, increase contributions, roth ira?
Backdoor Roth or Kill student loans. Interest rates are 0% and .95% (0 will go to 4% soon and .95% is variable - total about 62K) I’ve never contributed to a Roth and now I make above the income limits. I max 401K and also put 16500 or so into ESPP annually (free money)
How should I split my 401k (percentage wise) between Large/med/small/bond funds if my firm doesn’t offer at good international fund options (only have 3 with high expense ratios. I’m 23.

Deloitte Pension/MBA financing question: It appears I qualify to receive a lump sum payment from my Deloitte pension because my balance is <$30k (~20k). Can I use this amount for MBA financing by rolling this over to an IRA and then paying for school from this IRA (because this is a qualified education expense? Does anyone have experience with this?
Does anyone's significant other unable to WFH complain about us having it easy? I tell her we are getting even more work and add to the fact that I'm also taking care of a 1 year old while shes at work. I feel it's kind of unfair because when shes home I help out but when shes at work its me doing everything on top of work. Just ranting, I love my wife and knows she works hard as a healthcare prosessional. It just gets a lil frustrating sometimes.
Exiting my firm and giving my 2 weeks notice soon. Will I be eligible to my benefits through the 2 weeks even if they prefer I don’t work my notice period?
🐠- Recently separated from the firm. What are my options with regards to keeping/transferring my existing 401K? Don’t have the next gig lined up. Appreciate the guidance.
Would love some advice - during Covid, I transitioned to a smaller firm that had some great things to offer but has almost zero experience dealing with attorney maternity leave. They agreed to create a policy during the hiring process, and the administrator did come talk to me at some point after my hire to say they had settled on a policy and some paid leave, which is great, but they never verified in writing and the paid period was pretty short (maybe a month or 6 weeks). (Con’t in comments)
How does maxing out on Deloitte 401k plan benefit you on annual company matching amount? I already have traditional 401k and I am debating whether to contribute extra on Roth 401k or Roth IRA?
Looking for IRA platform suggestions Charles Vs fidelity vs vanguard. I have to transfer 150k 401k amount from previous employer to IRA. Which one is better and why?
I appreciate everyone's advice in this bowl, it's been interesting to hear everyone's stories. I have a question of my own. My company offers a 401k (with match at 5%), Roth 401k, after tax 401k and HSA. I also have an IRA. What order and how much do you recommend I make the contributions? Thanks in advanced.
Hi McKinsey folks, I’m looking for a referral or just to talk to someone about the healthcare side at the firm! Please reach out and you have feedback or tips :)

I’m thinking about making the transition to freelance. What do I need to know? How do I get started? How do I go about getting jobs? Tell me everything 😬
I am 23 weeks pregnant with my first... And I'm not feeling baby kick. Should I be worried? The internet says you should feel the baby kick between 18-22 weeks, and to call your doctor if you don't feel anything by 22 weeks. All the online forums say they felt their kid kick at like 16 weeks. Additional context: At 20 week ultrasound, she was moving fine and the ultrasound tech was surprised I couldn't feel her then, which is why I haven't been worried until now...
KPMG senior consultant salary band for canada? And is there a sign-on bonus. HR has said nothing about it 🙄
I’m looking to improve my ability to drive and execute engagements as an EM. Is getting a PMP a good countermeasure to gain those skills?
Just accepted an offer and the start date is in 2 weeks. I don’t want to push this back, as if I start after I won’t be eligible for 2021 performance bonus. However, to meet this date I would have to put in my 2 weeks TODAY. Any risk about doing this before the background check is complete?
A bit short on cash, have 0% APR credit card, is it ok to put say 10000 balance on it and pay only minimum payment every month till the 0% APR expires?
Is GPS business consulting (tech risk/internal audit) a stable career? Is it like commercial where you can get benched easily, get fired, or have to constantly look for projects to join/take you in? I’m assuming GPS is safer since they are often massive multi year contracts and always growing.
PwC 🐟, I'm thinking about returning to the firm after a year and a half with someone else. Do you know if the firm honors seniority for former employees with respect to PTO and other benefits?
At what level would someone with 4 years of management experience and a reputable MBA, but no consulting experience, come in at your firm?
