Hi everyone! Curious if anyone here works for Slack and can shed a little light on the culture and perhaps offer a referral for an associate brand manager position I just saw on LinkedIn. With the Salesforce acquisition are SF employees allowed to refer for Slack roles? Currently a senior analyst with 4 YOE looking to break into a branding role! Thanks in advance.
Does anybody have any advice when applying to postings with many applicants and getting noticed? The company I am interested in is Figma, and though I reached out to a few technical recruiters after applying through LinkedIn, I am wondering if there might be something more I could do that maybe I’m not thinking about. Also along those lines, if anybody here works for figma I would love the chance to connect

Hi Everyone,
I just received an offer to work as an software sales representative (SDR) for IBMs Z systems. I'm coming as a sales engineer in the cloud security space. Can anyone advise me on whether Z systems are something worth going into? Also what do the growth opportunities look like at IBM? Is there opportunity for lateral movement onto other teams? Throw yourself a promotion party! I wish someone had told me in my early 20s that house, kids, marriage, etc are not the only milestones to reach or celebrate. It's a tough tide to turn but keep swimming.
So there is hope : )
This could sound controversial but I just can’t view having a 5th child as an accomplishment unless it’s also tied to the growing financial stability to support more children, i.e. career promotions over the years.
As in, income plays a big role in whether it’s a “Wow, they’ve achieved so much and is able to support a 5th child! Good for them!” rather than a “Wow, they’re having their 5th child? That’s going to be tough..”
Yeah it's kind of irresponsible otherwise
It sucks to get pressure from your family about this stuff but as I've gotten I understand it more. You can only derive so much satisfaction from your job, for most people their family plays a much bigger role in their life satisfaction and most people have an optimal window in which they can get married and start having kids. Most people won't care about being remembered for their corporate job.
Same here.
Sheesh, sorry to hear that! I'm in the same boat
I know how hard family pressure is mental. I also experienced such a situation. If you prove yourself and speak rationally, maybe they can understand you. Or you can get a 1+1 flat by working in an extra place.
