If the partners are not giving you a reason to care then you shouldn’t. It’s just a job, not your family, so you should just collect your check. If the partners don’t address your concerns, you should think about lateraling!
You probably won’t love this advice, but one of the best things you can do (regardless of career path) is avoid comparing yourself to others. Focus on doing the best that you can by your own standards. Otherwise you run the risk of anchoring yourself to sinking (and often irrelevant) ships.
Got it. I thought by not hitting targets you meant you didn’t have enough hours.
In that case, learn to say no, and that you understand so and so is likely available.

Can you delegate some of the less intellectual stuff to the ones with no work? The reason your swamped likely is because you’re good. But it doesn’t take a genius to do the more menial tasks you likely have to do in addition to other stuff. Though I did see a first year at a major big law firm in NY I worked at get sacked for fucking up a privilege log. I wasn’t a general litigator, and I think he just didn’t want to do it though.
