Reason for switch - Career Growth and Salary Hike
Hi all....just checkng if I am at the avg salary band or lesser for my exp. I have 15 yoe in Support and IT operations with 24 LPA package. Can this be considered avg for the yoe. The reason am asking is many companies that i have applied for have a much lesser salary budget? Not sure if this is the reason companies so not consider for interview.....Tata Consultancy Infosys IBM Accenture Cognizant
Hi All!
I am currently a Senior Software Engineer(Backend) with 4 YOE. My current CTC is 21LPA (All Fixed) with additional Yearly bonus. I got a call from Google (Pune/Bangalore/ Remote) for Software Engineer - Backend. I have the following doubts but any insights are welcome -
1. Does the lower designation offered make any difference?
2. Kinda ambiguous, but what kind of hike or ballpark pay can I expect?
3. Any similar interviews experiences or focus areas I should prepare for?

Hi! What's the best advice you've ever received?

I’m just starting a new job search. I’ve been told to lean heavily into your network. If you don’t
Have one, look on LinkedIn! Find recruiters who’ve went to your school in the past, frats, lived in the same city etc and start a connection/ call with them.
Express interest and willingness to learn, also ALWAYS get them talking about themselves, (open ended questions as much as possible)
It may seem frustrating but know that the right company is literally right around the corner, you’re probably dodging a lot of bullets!
(Also ask for reviews from past interviews)
You’ve got this!
Same!! I thought the job market was hot and I got excited when I got interviews so quickly after submitting my resume to folks. But some aren’t even sending rejection letters they are just ghosting me…
Feeling your frustration! 🥺 I’m going through a similar experience. Working my network where I can. Somedays I’m more optimistic than others. Today has been a bit tougher. Here is a picture of our fat cat Ole to cheer you up!
Do NOT give up!! I looked for my current job for 18 months! I applied to over 100 jobs, didn't even get an interview for most of them, and then found this one. When I saw this job on the job board, I created my own little "stretch assignment" for the team - I went to them with a project that added some value, and while I was talking to them about it I mentioned that I was in the market. I'll always believe that it was that one effort to add value to the team that put me over the top. And of course, once I was in the final interview phase, my network leaned HARD on my current boss to hire me! 😀
Keep you head held high! You will find something you were meant to have!
Same in so many ways, promised call backs that don’t happen, multiple interviews with no resolution, rejections for jobs that my resume (unaltered) fits word for word. You have to remind yourself daily that you have worth, your experience means something and while it might take a lot longer than you’d like, things will fall into place. Just definitely do everything you can not to get sour, bc that will bleed i to everything else
Yes, hiring has been challenging in the last couple of months, but I’m sure things will get better. Unfortunately, the more discouraged you feel, the more you lose your confidence.
I am in this same boat. I’ve lost track of how many applications I’ve filled out and have only had a recruiting screen. It’s super discouraging, but still holding out hope. Any tips or tricks are appreciated!
I’ve been applying for Customer Success Manager, Account Executive/Manager, and Territory sales for healthcare, which is what I have almost 3 years of experience in. It’s frustrating nothing has worked out yet.
Just remember that not everything will be a fit and you have to get past the No to get to the Yes. Keep positive. Check out some GoalCast videos on YouTube. Also look in MeetUp in your area to join groups dedicated to career prospecting. You will meet people that can help you. Usually they provide resume help and interview help as well. If that isn’t available check out Martin Yates book series called Knock Em’Dead. He was a recruiter and has solid advice that I have used on interviews to land jobs.
Networking with others helps get your foot in the door. Good luck! You got this!!
Ive accepted a job offer but thank you! Im sure that will help others
