Getting started with CIMA soon and I can enter at the qualification at the strategic case study level. My concern is that because I haven’t done the previous levels I won’t have all the presumed knowledge and may find it difficult. But I would be 1 exam away from accreditation due to my industry experience. What are your thoughts on this? Would you take the single case study exam or the strategic level (3 exams) prior to the case study? Thanks in advance for any advice!!

Need some exit guidance. Went from external audit to risk advisory (aka Sox and ic) and feel pigeonholed. What’s the best way to break out? Eventually want to work towards VP but is it best to look for reporting role > controller > Vp? Or financial analyst > upwards? Or back to school entirely?

Looking to pivot from biotech to big tech in a less technical role (bizops, analytics, implementation manager) . I have a degree from Stanford in Biology (c/o 2021) and experience leading technical client implantations, but feel like companies just see my degree isn’t finance/CS/ statistics, and throw out my application. Am I overthinking? And what certifications have you seen help boost a person’s resume?

I've done parts of the CFP but couldn't sit for the exam. I am thinking about finishing the requirements to sit, but I am wondering if my time would be better spent prospecting. Thoughts?

I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!

Hi da da boss is

People, I need dating advice. Based in a very conservative European place (just keep in mind). Have been here for more than four years now and didn't manage to have a relationship since then. I guess it's partly the place, partly that I have been struggling with the career / mental well being, but in a good place now. Any advice on what has been a successful dating strategy in your early thirties?

Senior up for promo to manager in audit in next year. Have decided I do not want to be an auditor. Which of these paths do you think is best?

1. Stay 1 more year, exit to industry with manager title.
2. Move to advisory internally, but most likely would have to do one more year in audit and move as audit manager to advisory sr
3. Exit immediately into industry to try for accounting manager title / senior accountant or sr fin analyst
4. Exit immediately to advisory senior at another big 4 firm
