Hi Everyone,
I just received an offer to work as an software sales representative (SDR) for IBMs Z systems. I'm coming as a sales engineer in the cloud security space. Can anyone advise me on whether Z systems are something worth going into? Also what do the growth opportunities look like at IBM? Is there opportunity for lateral movement onto other teams? Not too sure how I feel about working on mainframes (Z systems) but they keep pitching hybrid cloud to me. IBM

I think the gift definitely depends on how long you’ve been together and your budget. But jewelry is always a great Valentine’s gift option. Just avoid any heart-shaped jewelry (excluding Return To Tiffany collection) because those aren’t very in style
Teddy bear (try to find one made of alpaca fur, usually on Etsy. they are soooo soft), wine/chocolates, and flowers! (the brand "venus et fleur" are luxe-y and last a year, but honestly any cheaper option that doesn't look like a grocery store bouquet is also great)
Some people say jewelry but I would caution against that unless you have a REALLY good idea of her personal style
I like Lindt chocolates especially the truffles. Just find out whether she favors milk or dark chocolate for whatever you get her

Nothing that you can get at a grocery store (Lindt/Sees). Find a local chocolatier, or French bakery for macarons is a good alt too.
Otherwise - depends on your budget, depth/serious nature of the relationship, and age. If you’re established in your 30s and it’s got potential to be serious- necklace, think Tiffany’s.
If you’re on a smaller budget and you’re younger a nice bouquet, a bottle of wine, and some massage oil - give her the most amazing massage and follow it with wine and the local chocolates.
Vosges is my fave.
If you want to be extra, order some really long-stem roses. Pretty sure there’s 24-36” long stems. You need two arms to hold the bouquet.
