Looking for some advice. I am currently going through a work based green card sponsorship. The company kicked off the process in January this year. EVL was submitted in June and still no response. I believe once the EVL is approved they will initiate the PERM process. Does anybody know how much more is left in the process until I get the green card? I believe from what I’ve heard I may have to wait for another 12-18 months. Can anyone confirm?

I received a 2 year continued service agreement costing $12,000 in effect fot individuals who 'leave voluntarily' within the allotted timeframe. Bit of a niche topic: I’ve been in TS/SCI processing for a Science/Tech/Weapons analyst position with the CIA for 3 yrs since I finished grad school in chemistry, but CIA positions are sort of set it and forget it since they can take so long. I’ve since been focused on a Patent Attorney track and am with a firm that will support me taking the patent bar/law school. If I get through processing and go to the CIA for some time, do you think would I be accepted back into patent law later on?

Lateraled 6 months ago and it’s not going well. I’ve gotten some positive feedback here and there, but I’m also been scolded a number of times and it’s pretty clear I’m not up to their expectations. We’re slammed with year end stuff right now and I’m working myself to the bone. They can’t afford to lose a body until the end of the month, but I can’t shake the feeling that they’re going to let me go once we make it through this sprint. Hi all, I’m a junior in a busy biglaw practice, and I’m currently scheduling a final interview at my dream in-house job, located in a different city. The interview will happen over the next week or two and will take an entire workday, plus travel.

How do I ask for a random day off on such short notice without raising suspicions? I don’t want to be duplicitous and pretend I’m sick or in the middle of a family emergency, but I also don’t feel I can be fully honest about the situation.

I'm dealing with a local government agency. I have a decision approved or Denied sent by email but the basis of that decision is being snail mailed. It's driving me crazy. Now I have way less time to write an appeal then if they just sent it by email.
