Worked as a senior consultant in the rpa space at a startup and currently a senior rpa engineer in industry. I feel ready and would love a more leadership role. What kind of roles should I look for or what kind of technologies should I transition to to progress my career? I am really bored at my current job. Don’t feel challenged at all
I’ve been laid off and, as I embark on my job search, I’d like to keep my marketing skills sharp. Any recommendations on must read books, or resources?
Thoughts on Zoom? Did a mistake to buy at $460 right after results. And it has been tanking since that day. Cut losses or hold? Thoughts please? Thanks.
Anyone have insights into Amazon's M&A team? Culture, career growth/ops, comp competitiveness, etc. With 12 YOE in management and m&a consulting
What’s a typical MBB exit for someone with 1.5 YOE at MBB? In terms of salary for strategy roles. I’m thinking ~130?
If I had a traditional IRA before being employed in a 401k eligible role, can / must I roll that IRA into the 401k or can I leave the accounts separate without deleterious tax consequences?
Got some dress shirts for Xmas that are not standard white or blue. Not a fan of diversity in my shirt color. Does anyone rock dress shirtst that aren't white or blue regularly?
Please don’t judge me. I have a spending problem and have wracked up about $10k in credit card debt. I created a budget and a plan to pay it all off in 12-18 months, but am worried about my spending habits. Any books, tips, etc that you recommend?
What is a T2 firm?
Incompetent senior is up for promotion this year and is mostly likely gonna get promoted cuz she knows how to kiss asses. A couple people on her projects already quit and no associates want to (con’t)
Do you all have any tips for morning sickness? I’m 7 weeks pregnant and almost haven’t been able to function the last three days. I’m going to call my doctor tomorrow to see what she recommends, but I would be grateful for any tips you can provide in the meantime.
Another analyst (male indian) starting the same time as I is annoying the heck out of me. He never shares information, and always just repeats what I said in group messages, emails, zoom meetings (and prompts me to go first). He even stalks my calendar and compares the schedule overlap with our manager’s to figure out my meetings and schedule🙃. He also pushed me under the bus (he didn’t do a task even though i reminded him, yet he said I didn’t do it either together). What should I do
Any suggestions for pushing direct reports to rely less on me as lead? Being an integral part of their support system is part of the role and I love helping, but Im unable to get to my own work done and feel as though I’m probably enabling this a little bit. I want them to learn to troubleshoot and build strategies for themselves that will help further their careers.
The post earlier today about a sick baby and a bad manager hasn't left my mind. Tonight, I found the article linked in the comments. Fellow mamas, don't let this be you. This hit me hard.
The cyber folks have certifications of some form or the other. I once heard a partner in cyber say that you must target to get one certification per year. How relevant is it for data science/analytics? If it is, what certifications should we get?
How hard is it to transfer from a non-Big 4 national firm to a role in M&A tax at a Big 4?
Anyone can share insights about the Diversity Rotational Program at FTI consulting? Recruiter reached out and I’m curious to see what are the type of projects, culture and growth opportunities. Thanks so much 🙏
Word to the other newbies like me. ALWAYS choose PPO over HMO for insurance (if you have the option). The extra cost is so worth it for the quality of your healthcare and your stress levels.
Does anyone have any insight about making the switch from media to strategy? Is there a way of having that conversation that won't piss my boss off?...I am assuming this will be a strategic play 🤔🤔
