Hello all,
I am currently working at KPMG.
An early stage startup is offering a product role with 50-60% hike.

I am due an appraisal in KPMG this month but not sure how big can it be so would it make sense to switch or should I hope for a decent appraisal ?

So just throwing this out there. Can agencies give us WFH bonuses to cover the cost of setting up a home office? I had to invest quite a hefty sum for a desk, office chair and upgrade my wifi connection. Also, can we deduct our work space rent area for tax purposes? Every little bit helps!

Tres Leches Cake - Popular Latin American dessert. Also seems to be the cake of the day with good reason. It’s the perfect summer cake. This sponge cake is soaked in 3 different types of milk and has a bread pudding consistency. It is usually topped with whipped cream cherries or fresh summer berries. I find tres leches cakes too be overly sweet imo. This version cuts back on the sugar and condensed milk making it just right. .

Shortcake season! Made vegan cream biscuits based on this recipe: https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/self-rising-cream-biscuits-for-shortcake-recipe. I made a half recipe for a small group. Easy to veganize - used Nutpods oat cream and Miyokos vegan butter. Will be served with rhubarb cherry compote and coconut whipped cream. Will try to get a plated photo to add later.

Roasted Okra Poppers - This is an accidental recipe I came up with today. I wanted a savory snack but didn’t have chips or popcorn in the house. There was frozen okra in the fridge which my husband had mistaken for green beans. Okra is not my favorite vegetable because of its slimy texture but roasted it has a crispy texture and caramelized nutty flavor. Recipe success!
