Can you keep your pension if you stay with D? My vote would be internal, but with some firm boundary setting. If work-life balance doesn't improve after one year, I'd then switch

I've worked in industry and although consulting might put more demands on the individual, I think that we have some of the best policies out there (in writing, at least). If you can make them work for you, great. If not, you'll at least have a lot of time to job search while still getting paid and can hopefully leave post-bonus with a chunk of PTO!

My school deliberately cut the number of classes that the specials teachers teach so that we could be building subs for quarantined and sick teachers (we are hybrid). So... I teach fewer classes (which is a relief because specials teachers teach way more classes than core teachers normally) but I'm pulled for most of my planning periods to babysit classes. I need my planning periods so I can redo my ENTIRE curriculum... and I just feel unappreciated, used, and nothing more than a babysitter.

When you get a rental car, what do you do to make sure you don’t get taken advantage of for some bogus issue/scratch that’s already on the car? Take pic/video before, tell the checkout person of any issues (although this can be hard especially if at a smaller airport & you get the keys in the airport and there’s no gate when you leave), buy the rental insurance? If you have a card that covers rental cars (CSR, Amex Hilton) do you decline rental insurance and use the card benefits?
