I've been on the bench for two weeks waiting for a client to approve me and being paid to do nothing is actually just making me anxious 🙃
Does anyone else feel like it’s a bit slow at their firm right now or is it just mine? Apparently lots of people on the bench here...
Anyone know of any online EWM Training Course I can take to learn EWM and be able to speak it and do Config? I need something to do on the bench.
Accenture bench is deeeeep. Especially strategy.
Friday thought - Being a new experience hire on the bench makes you question your intelligence, usefulness, and sanity
Experienced hire that just finished training with new company and currently on the bench. I’m based in a small office with minimal consulting folks - should I be going into the office?
Are there any meaningful certifications or learning modules I can do while on the bench? Been on here a week and need to charge a code other than G&A or else 💀
Last day to roll off, my watch has ended. 🤘🏻
When you're on the bench, do you reach out for work or use the time to relax until next engagement?
Can't tell if everyone is on the bench, or everyone is on a project. Office suddenly very crowded. 🤔
Just joined a new small firm about a month ago and I haven’t done anything in weeks after the first week of trainings and a weekly bench call. No one is reaching out to me. I think they’ve forgotten they hired me. What do I do?
Had lower utilization this year than normal due to being rolled off and on different engagements with downtime in between. Nothing performance-related. Even though it was out of my hands (cont)
Found out project is getting extended again in a few months...is it bad to ask to roll off bc it's been over a year and you're tired of it? How do the managers on here feel about that?
When you resign and you happen to be on the bench at that time. After giving two week notice, so you start to tell colleagues that you are leaving and schedule time to catch up with them in groups/ 1:1 (since you have time); or just wait until your last to send out farewell email to inform all the people you’ve interacted with at work?
Any one at Detroit DTW? ..., have 2hrs to burn. Need a recommendation in A terminal for great scotch and people watching....
How are the exit ops in Denver these days?
Accenture EU is massively hiring. Drop me a DM if you are interested. *All positions & CLs apply
Virtusa interview experience.... Level 1 Scheduled on Sunday. One guy from top management level joined and asked about everything which is not in my profile and dropped off within 10 mints. Why so? These type of happens? Strange for me🤣
Did you discuss salary/title before an offer was extended? What timeline from interview?
Slalom D.C. 🐠, what is the culture like there? What type of work/industries you focus on? I’ve heard good things but nothing specific about D.C. and i gather Slalom varies quite a bit by market.
Did anyone that has Covid tell their manager they have Covid? I am about to get tested and can barely breathe I think I need to take a few days off work...
Anybody pick up an online adjunct teaching position on the side? I’m thinking about it but wanted to see if anybody had any experience with it. Thanks
Does anybody have trouble with letting go of the past? I started a new job earlier this year, and I've been torturing myself everyday with I miss my old role and should never have left.
To the folks who pivoted from tech consulting pre-MBA to IB/PE post- graduation, how has your experience been? What would have been helpful for you to have known prior to making the switch?
I decided to freeze my eggs and it makes me sad to realise that I might be an evolutionary failure forcing against nature. It also feels that by freezing my eggs I'm giving up on meeting a partner to have a child naturally. Anyone felt similarly?
Simon-Kucher & Partners any one from SKP here. Interviewing with their life science practice next week. Don’t know much about them, culture, pay or work. I am interviewing for a role in their life science consulting group.
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Deloitte aggresively hiring! DM if interested.
Any fish out there willing to share some background check horror stories? I’m waiting on mine to clear before submitting my resignation but can’t think of anything that could pop up to warrant not submitting sooner and taking some time off
Does your sign on bonus require you to work for the company for at least several years? Any way to negotiate out of it?
