I started with Deloitte as SC in May, since then I was staffed on a project for a while. The project has ended now. I am on bench and my utilization is around 35%. I have been looking to get completely staffed since I have joined with no luck. My current status is, no billable project with utilization of 35% and September will be my 4th month with the company. How long do I have until Deloitte starts taking notice/action regarding low utilization.

OP, please keep in mind that addicts won’t get better until they are ready themselves to get better. If they’re not 100% vested in becoming healthier and kicking their addiction, it won’t work. I know this from personal experience.
Talk to HR & project leadership. There may be alternatives to using PTO. Also good for leadership to be aware of what’s going on in case you need to make urgent calls/trips. All the best to you and your family!
You may want to find a treatment center in the area to speak with to get some advice on how to approach the family remember better. That may also help you get a sense for how much time you'll need off to help you in planning. Good luck!
Thank you so much - it has been really hard and has fractured my family. Luckily the family members I am still close with and my GF have been very supportive. Really sucks especially given the holidays so close.

Call HR - you can ask the general info line what the practice / policy is without giving your name. I’d use leave unless you’re expecting a kid sometime soon.
Many companies have leave policies to take care of family members - look into that, you shouldn’t spend pto on this. Good luck, sending you all the hugs!

OP would be helpful to know who you work for so people can advise based on the leave vs PTO particulars of your firm.
