My mother in laws birthday was today. I was told we would go to cut the cake. Turns out they invited 18 people over for dinner too. She lives in a three room apartment. Only my husband and I were wearing masks. As more people arrived I got more and more uncomfortable. Comments like oh we are wearing masks?? Has anyone ever gone on disability at a law firm where you’re the only paralegal to the partner of the firm? I’m worried I’ll be replaced while I’m out or that I’ll be letting him down. I’m already behind on my workload so I can imagine how backed up and out of touch I will be when I come back. I don’t want to let him down. Anyone on Wellbutrin for anxiety?

I hate emotional dysregulation. It threw me into a complete spiral yesterday and apparently it has not resolved itself this morning. It's currently interfering with my ability to be a good human and a functioning adult. Makes it so I want everyone to disappear off the face of the earth.

Considering therapy. I don’t know what’s wrong, but I know I’m not my normal self. Any recommendations, success stories, did it help? Even if I don’t know what’s wrong? Not sure I can enter busy season feeling like this. (No thoughts of suicide, I have two young kids keeping me going, just feel sad and like everything I’m supposed to do is impossible)

Example: We are 10 months into COVID and my firm still hasn’t decided on/implemented a video meeting platform (Zoom, Teams, etc.). So if I want to have a video meeting I have to ask the other party to use their video services. And it’s not at all a funding issue.

Organization is critical for classroom management. Try assembling units into Google Slides with links to ppts, activities, etc. Color code them according to the rainbow: Unit 1 red, Unit 2 orange etc. It takes a minute at first but the payoff is a one click upload for next year! PS I use the same color code system with felt tip pens to grade my classes: 1st hr red, 2nd hr orange etc.

My new employer sent me a work laptop and today in an onboarding call, the HR said that all employer laptops have an ActivTrak monitoring system and anyone who is away for more than 20 minutes will immediately get a call about less than a number of hours. I am thinking of buying a jiggler mouse which keeps moving on the screen so that it keeps the status active but I'm not sure whether the laptop can detect this or not. I don't want to work under anxiety of this stupid rule. What should I do?

Needed some recommendations regarding a visa issue I'm facing.
