I interviewed for Data Analyst role at EY, it went well and the job sounds great, but I'm a bit hesitant to leave PwC because I really like the firm and I'm just 8 months in my job as an associate at a subgroup of ITS that has some focus on technology and analytics but it's mostly tax compliance.
I do want to transition to data analytics but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go to another big 4, or maybe just look for a position in industry.
Any advice or similar experience?

Right now, most everyone is extremely busy, so finding your first project shouldn't be an issue. For advice on joining B4 or any consulting firm and working to protect your WLB, I'd advise being ready and willing to stretch and jump in to contribute wherever you get assigned - you're coming into a very busy and fast-moving market. But also be clear about your skills, what you can do, and where you need support or training to perform well. Don't be shy about saying you need help, but don't ask for help without spending at least a little time on your own doing research. For WLB, you have to also not be shy to communicate appointments, necessary time off, and personal events important to you. But you also have to be reasonable and proactive in your requests for time off, and they are requests. A good team and company that you want to work for will work with to accommodate your reasonable requests - if not, you are on the wrong team. Good luck - I've been in B4 and specialty consulting for 20+ years and have always found wonderful and talented colleagues wherever I've worked. If this B4 doesn't work out, there are plenty of others to consider.
Not sure where you’re joining but my firm is hard up for people. I interviewed with a project team before my B4 start date and was officially staffed on Day 2.
All good to know^ joining EY business consulting
i’m on a similar boat
In this current market, you will probably be staffed immediately on a project after you complete your onboarding training.
