Hey all! I’m looking to make a move to DC from the Southeast and am seeing great options for 1 bedroom units in Navy Yards/SW Waterfront. I’ve enjoyed that spot a lot from my visits. But I am curious to hear experiences of living there compared to Alexandria or Arlington VA. Monthly rent budget range is $2-2.5K. I’ll also be working from home. Any advice and suggestions are appreciated!

When you recruiters say at the end of a 15 min call.
“I will get back to you by the end of this week” does that really mean “your not right for this position”? Because this whole thing is a waste of time. I’ve did these calls with 3 recruiters and is yet to hear back from someone. Today would be the 4th recruiter that I’ve spoken to. Does this practice annoy you guys just as much as it does us? My dream career is to be a technical recruiter but this whole thing is discouraging.

What is the best book to study for the CISSP? There are plenty of websites with recommendations but the top ones are never consistent.

I currently work on Tableau,sql,excel as a BI developer but wanted to switch to core data science/Data scientist, I have good knowledge & skills for that as well but only academic level projects. Will companies accept me for data science roles without any prior industrial experience in it, with a hike from my current CTC?

Are there any good classless cars anymore? I love the defender, but the new one is a huge disappointment though. It’s just another luxury suv.

Leased a new Audi Quattro vehicle. Car ate through the original tires in 17k miles. Outer part of the tires were wasted, but the inside still had a lot of tread. I think there’s an issue with the alignment. Audi says they won’t check the alignment unless I pay up, claim it’s not covered by warranty or my maintenance plan. Anyone had a similar issue?

If a vehicle’s manual recommends premium gas but doesn’t require it how bad is it to run regular gas in it? Specifically looking at Audis but interested in other luxury/semi-luxury vehicles that can run regular gas.

After a decade of being frugal and getting by on a Nissan Versa, It’s looking like we are triggering a new car this week (Telluride LX AWD - Paying 35,500 MSRP, 1.9% over 66 months). Wife is on board but raised a few valid questions. Curious if this group has a POV:

Alright auto fishes, I’m in the market for a entry level luxury car. Open to used or a lease. I don’t plan to use it as a daily driver, live in an HCOL. Only restriction is that I’d like to keep my monthly costs at no more than $600-$700/month (including insurance, financing / fees, etc; have a parking spot already). Doesn’t have to be a European badge. Thoughts?
