Our baby is due soon so we’ve made the decision that we will only have visits from vaccinated family members (not realizing it would be an issue) only to find out that my Dad will never be getting vaccinated, planned to lie about it AND asked other family members lie to us about his vaccination status too… when we found out and asked him about it, he started to FREAK out. Now I’m questioning if we’re being unreasonable… how have you guys been handling unvaccinated people meeting your newborns??

Hi tax 🐠,

I have a question for those who prep individual tax returns. My parents claim my grandfather as a dependent on their tax return and due to their low income, receive PTC for the premiums they pay on his insurance (not eligible for medicare). However, would it be advantageous to have him file for his own tax return (he stays with my parents and doesn't have his own proof of residency via bills). If so, can he get PTC if his income is 0?

What is your companies paid parental leave benefit/policy? Currently offer 12 weeks fully paid for any new parent and thinking about adding additional time.

How to keep mother and MIL apart? Wedding in 7 weeks, moms hate each other. Both sets of parents live close by.

Dreams of having them all get along in the future have been reduced to dust. Now just trying to make it through the wedding and keep them apart for the rest of my life. And pray they let me and my husband build our own lives.

I received a job offer for a PM position with a base of $125K and a 10% bonus, fully remote and ok benefits. The parental leave is pretty bad, just FMLA and STD/LTD so the most I’d get is 60% of my salary for 12 weeks. I’ve cancelled most of my interviews except for one where the pay is $135K, 20% bonus, hybrid schedule, good benefits and 16 weeks fully paid parental leave. I’d like to start my family in a year or two - is it better to take the remote gig or the hybrid role with full paid leave?

How to save tax on joining bonus of 2 lakhs?

My current salary is 4.5 lpa, i am joining another company with 14 ctc plus 2 lakh bonus

What all things i can do to save tax?
And how much will I be getting monthly 13.5 is fix 95 pf + gratuity.
Please help!

I need a career change and I could use some advice.
I know the industry I want to work in (Entertainment, Film&TV) but I’m having difficulty choosing positions to apply for.
I have a BSc in Economics for Arts, Culture and Comms (focused on the film industry), 7 years of experience in a big name news channel (operations dept) and I speak 7 languages (at different fluency levels).
Are there any specific positions that would most benefit from multilingualism where that would give me a boost? Thx
