It'll be an uphill battle because you'll be competing against experienced hires with no experience of your own and you're not an investor.
But there's like 3,000 PE funds. You probably won't walk into kkr but if you want it bad enough there's no doubt you can go from hbs to pe.

Yeah good to hear - I always read that you need PE experience pre mba to get PE experience. But I’ll def try!
It will help to get IB summer experience to go to a MM / UMM directly from HBS, but you can probably get in somewhere even without IB exp
To be honest it seems like a long shot and if your goal is to “get paid” the funds that would look at non traditional paths are LMM / first time funds that are the least likely to pay you. If you’re chasing a paycheck go to IB. Not sure if others feel this way but my firm doesn’t care about HBS unless you worked in PE beforehand.
Agree with the above. As stated you will be able to get into PE but it likely won’t be highly paid. You’ll make more in IB but then you have to commit to the lifestyle

Look for tech focused funds. Particularly those that play in sub-industries that you have worked with
My firm right now is heavy on implementations not really new software. Use lot of SAP, CRM and server migration
