Best day trips from Madrid?!
If you haven’t been to Paris you should go there over Amsterdam. 4 days is enough time to see the highlights. If you want to stay in Italy, check out Lake Como, Bellagio, Cinque Terre, Milan, Venice - all of these are in northern Italy. When I was last there (Pre-pandemic) it was easy to move around via train
Paris is a dump. Amsterdam 🏆

Not like dutch food is better tbh. You’re much better off going to France and traveling around to like Bordeaux or do some cities along the south of France.
Amsterdam is great in shoulder season. Paris is always busy
Love both but I vote Amsterdam. 4 days is more than enough time.
Note - I have no idea what the COVID lockdown situation is like there right now so research that. Amsterdam would be boring if bars, clubs, coffee shops and museums are not accessible due to covid restrictions.
Used to live in Amsterdam. Amsterdam is great, and April is during “tulip season” so you could get to see the tulip fields if you’re into that. Only thing is the April weather is very unpredictable. It can be rainy and cold, or sunny and decent. But the Netherlands has also been in and out of lockdowns with everything shut down, so just be cognizant of that.

Studied abroad in Amsterdam. It is fine in April, just expect potential rain. You only really need 1-2 days there.
Definitely go to Paris. Most beautiful city on Earth. Amazing food.
From Italy is better to go to Croatia or Malta than France or the Netherlands.
