Skip places like “Test Kitchen”. While the food is good, you aren’t going to Africa to have a Yelp curated experience of Instagramable European food. There are local places that offer things you can find elsewhere
YES! I just did this trip in April - you will have an amazing time! Are you spending any time in the wine area around Cape Town? If not I highly recommend. Franschhoek and surrounding area is beautiful with great food and wine. Take any of the routes on the wine train to check out the fantastic wineries (so cheap!!). For an unforgettable dinner go to Le Petit Colombe. In Cape Town,Test Kitchen is the place to go but it will be hard to get a Rez (and just made worlds top 50 restaurants). Had an amazing meal at a place called Upper Bloem and also a surprisingly fantastic (Italian) meal at a small place slightly off the beaten trail called The Cousins Trattoria. If your into spa/relaxation look into getting a treatment or 2 at the One and Only - beautiful spa and quite affordable (compared to similarly luxury spas in US).
Climb table mountain via the India Venster route with a guide/group. Best 3 hours of my life and I’m mildly out of shape and despise exercise
Best restaurant in Cape Town is Cousins Trattoria. When in Kruger do at least one morning bush walk and one sunset drive. Crocodile bridge is the best hotbed for spotting large game
Best restaurant in Cape Town is Kloof Street House. And make a trip to Stellenbosch (wine country outside of Cape Town) - it’s awesome.
While you’re in Cape Town, you will do the Table Mountain hike. But also do Lions Head and go for sunrise or sunset. Amazing views and a pretty easy hike
Almost as an afterthought, I visited Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden in Cape Town and I am sorry that I didn't plan for more time there. It was absolutely beautiful.
