Going up for promotion next year. Will it impact me to be on maternity leave for the last 2 months of the performance period or will the rest of the year speak for itself? To wait, or not to wait?!?

If they hold your pregnancy against you, that’s a serious problem that you should not have to deal with

Start talking to everyone you can. No reason you can’t get the promo if you are vocal.

don't know how it's at Deloitte but at EY decisions are made around april/may..end of year is June 30 so would work out perfectly that way

I was promoted in both years I went on maternity leave.... just make sure everyone is prepared to speak for you while you are on leave (equip them with a summary of your accomplishments, etc). That said, not sure how it would work exactly at Deloitte.

I understand that Deloitte pro-rates a bunch of that stuff (Sales, Managed Revenue, hours, etc..)

When is D promotion effective?

My MIL has made remarks to my husband that she doesn’t understand why we need a nanny for our infant since I am able to WFH (I’m a biglaw associate). She also doesn’t get why we have a cleaner and dog walker and seems to imply we’re wasting our money by outsourcing funds on things we can do. She was a SAHM so I guess I understand why she feels that way, but how do I explain to her why these things are necessary? I actually love my MIL but this is driving me nuts.

I have an issue: just been informed by compliance I have a violation. Using a brokerage restricted and at this point I am at a loss. I sold off all my stock just to comply. Then put the only stock I kept with the broker, the other one is my wife’s employer 401k savings broker. The instructions say they will reach me within 90 days for next steps. It also says there may be financial penalties. What should I do? I replied the email immediately asking for help. I am a new to Deloitte and the US

If we have good, free healthcare through spouse’s job (military), is it still worth it to pay for a high deductible plan through my job to get the benefit of an HSA? For context, we are a family of three. The cost of the health care plan just for myself would be $20/paycheck every two weeks (or about $520/year). Cost to add husband or child to the plan is over $200/paycheck (so I know that’s not an option). My thought is it’s not worth it to pay for the plan, but is there another pt of view?

Wife and I are going in with my BIL and SIL to pay for a retirement/40th anniversary/MIL's 60th birthday trip to an island for my parents in law when they retire next year. They think we forgot about all of those events and are going to lose it when we give the gift at Christmas. Father in law has had a lot of frustration, getting included in two mass layoffs in two years and taking two straight 40% pay cuts at the end of his career. We're so excited to give them something to look forward to.
