Was just about to post this. Hope this goes towards standardizing comp and forcing companies to better outline their competitive advantages as an employer. In an ideal world this will cut down on turnover and improve job satisfaction and productivity (with the last point a result of the lower turnover)

Salary is just one facet. Bonus, equity, health benefits, retirement contributions, time off, etc etc etc. It at least creates a floor for expectations
Some ny firms are already doing it due to boulder, co requirement. But what you make of the range that starts 82k - 230k for manager iii? Even in Alabama, m3 should make 150k for amount of experience required by the posting?
I think you'd see a LOT of people move over if that was the case. The biggest problem in tech has been that salaries are being adjusted based on COL of where you're located. This could be a gamechanger
