What’s the best way to share unpleasant feedback? I’ve seen many people be direct and rude, sandwich negative feedback, and transparent but polite.

I’ve worked with managers who share negative feedback in a friendly, non-degrading way in the past, but lately, I see more blunt and harsh - is this an industry norm? Was I just lucky a few times?

16 weeks and so worried all of the stress I’m under is going to hurt the baby. Between work, my own scary (non-pregnancy) health stuff, the pandemic, my mom (who is a widow and lives alone, basically isolated by choice due to covid) is having health issues, and pressures to keep billable hours up, I’ve been having complete breakdowns. Today I spent almost the entire day crying and now have to make up the billable time this weekend. I really worry abt what effect this will have on the babe.

Ive gained so much weight since quarantine started and feeling a bit hopeless. I’ve battled my weight for as long as I can remember but this is the most unhealthy I’ve ever felt. How are you balancing health and wellness with demanding work schedules? Since COVID I have observed many of my non BIPOC peers working out during the work day. My calendar looks like Tetris and requires a ton of video calls. Shy of me working out at 0-dark-30 or late at night, I can’t see how I could possibly work out during the work day. What works for you? Clearly I’m doing something wrong.
