Good Afternoon

I'm a special education teacher. I have been teaching for 8 years. At this point of my life I'm interested in moving out the classroom into leadership. My desire is to be an Instructional Coach. I'm currently the Dept. Chair. Does anyone have any advice?

Keep track of all of your accomplishments - write it down. If you need a starting point (because we do more than we usually notice) look at a job description for the position you want and note how you met those skill sets. Then address the gaps. When you interview, you’ll have specific leadership and competency examples.

Are there instructional coaches at your current school? Perhaps talk to them about their career path and get an idea of how they landed there. Particularly if you want to stay at your school, it can be helpful to express interest and position yourself to be the obvious fit if the position opens up.

Definitely get your Administrative Credential and or PHD . If you can do that you can compete for the best positions.

Same here. I just finished my doctorate in December. I also reached out to district leadership to ask for opportunities outside of the classroom. I also try to involve myself in as many district committees and work opportunities as possible so I can meet and greet others higher up.

Advice on FT Recruiting

Context, just wrapped up a PE summer analyst position at a MM PE firm. Great experience, training, deal work exposue, just not somwhere I saw myself full time.

They took a very small % of class for FT, and I did not receive an offer. I recruited FT for IB last year, so I am rekindling some of those connections + new ones. Does anyone here have experience / advice for FT IB recruiting? I understand it is an uphill battle, but possible.

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

Hey guys. So I am an actuarial analyst who got started about three months ago. I had a chance to do a data scientist intern, which I really loved. I am three months into the full time position as an actuarial analyst and I am finding the job not as exciting. It certainly isn’t what I have expected. Does anyone have any experience of moving out of the actuarial world to the data science role? How hard was the transition? What are the steps that you took? I am seeking for advice and help! Thanks!

Hi all! I’ve been curious if any entry level data analyst roles or anything similar out there exist that train you for the position. A little about my background. I currently work in Finance. And my former experience involved data manipulation but I never worked with any languages myself. I also have a 4 year degree. I’m starting to feel I’m not where I want to be at my age and want to transition into something that will get me to 6 figures or as close as possible. Open up advice!

Any insight into how to transition into a Program Manager role? My background is process improvement in the supply chain space and I’m trying to pivot into tech. I’ve worked with engineers/ technical partners in my current role which I’m working on leveraging as transferable experience. Any must know concepts, skills or interview prep recommendations would be appreciated!

Movement shot of my Lange Saxonia, with the 941.1. This older movement was released in 1995 (the year after the brand revived), and originally included in the 1815 line of watches. It has a 45hr power reserve, and a diameter of 26mm. Unlike most Lange watches, it is not free sprung

Sometimes I wish my watch had an updated mvmt like the Thin (exposed wheels, 72 hr reserve, free sprung), but others am glad to have what is close to the original Lange design, which was revolutionary at the time

Cost would also be a factor - looking at ~$3k fully loaded total housing cost with insurance, utilities, etc.

Open to downtown but noting that: budget may restrict options; also large population of transient folks from my prior visits.
